Frequently Asked Questions + Rates

Are you interested in working with me, but want more details about the process + my rates? Perfect! This page goes over some frequently asked questions about how we can work together.

How do I know if you would be a good dietitian or therapist for me?

I offer free 15-minute phone consultations to discuss your particular situation and how we may work together, so you can determine if I’m the right fit for you.

Can I use my health insurance when I come and see you?

I am not on any health insurance panels, and I am considered an out-of-network provider. That means that you pay me directly for services. If you need it, I can give you a receipt and you can file with your insurance carrier to seek any possible reimbursement.

If you want to seek reimbursement from your insurance, please call them to ask if you have an “out-of-network” benefit.

What are your rates?

Psychotherapy Services: $160 per 55 minute visit.

Nutrition Services:  $160 per 55 minute visit.

At this time I accept payment by credit card, HSA card, check or cash.

I notice that you are both a registered dietitian and psychotherapist.  Can you I see you for both services?

Due to my professional licenses, I can’t have what is called a “dual relationship”. This means that I can’t serve as your dietitian and therapist.  I can either be your dietitian or therapist, but not both. However, my training in both disciplines helps me to serve my clients more effectively.

How frequently do I come to see you?

I recommended weekly visits at first in order to build momentum in your treatment.  As clients get further along in their eating disorder recovery, visits usually drop down to every other week.

Do you see clients in the evening or on the weekend?

I see clients during the work week (Monday-Friday) only.  I generally see clients starting at 9 am and my last appointment of the day is at 1 pm.

Do you see children?

Yes, I work with children, teens, and adults.

How can I make an appointment with you?

First, we talk by telephone to discuss what your needs are and to determine if I may be the right person to help you.  If we both feel like I may be able to help you, then we go ahead and set up an initial appointment.

Do you see clients in person or only through telehealth?

Yes I am seeing clients in-person in my Austin office.

Do you see clients who live outside of Austin?

Yes. I am able to see clients who live throughout the state of Texas via telehealth.

Do you see students when they are away at college?

Yes. I can counsel college students, via telehealth, who attend college in Texas. I am able to see students that attend Texas A&M in College Station, Texas Tech in Lubbock, Baylor University in Waco to name a few.

I see UT Austin students in person and/or via telehealth.
